Disclaimer: If you don’t believe in fate then after reading this there is huge amount of possibility that you may start believing in fate. And if you already believe than reading this will surely made your belief stronger.
I started writing blogs to share my travel stories. But due to pandemic I was running out of travel stories. So I introspected to find out the answer of the question i.e. Why I want to write? I got the answer i.e. I like sharing unique or say almost unique😀 experiences. If you read my previous blogs then you will be agree with me. Let’s recall them.
Wrote Trip to Goa to share experience of club.
Wrote Trip to Manali to share that saleswoman story, that weed/hash guy story and Nainital story.
Wrote Trip to Mussoorie to share story of how team work can complete any task just by keeping positive attitude.
Then wrote My placement story to share how 3 seconds changed my life.
So now let’s start this Man Ki Baat😀
In secondary education I chooses computer science as optional subject with PCM. Learnt c++ and SQL. Passed 12th with 84% in computer science. One question will arise later on i.e. I passed computer science subject by cramming up. So in defence of this I want you to know that our teacher of computer science made us to code on notebook not on computer. He made us do dry run of code. A dry run is the process of a programmer manually working through their code to trace the value of variables. These techniques definitely gives you in-depth knowledge. By all this I want to clear one point may be 84 % is not in-depth knowledge but major part is in-depth knowledge.
In 2012 joined engineering college and in first year got to know we have c++ in each semester. I was excited as I already know this language but what I didn’t knew is that number of students who don’t know programming language is too high. Obviously fear of this subject was high too. Taking advantage of my previous knowledge of programming language I taught many students and some students crammed up the whole list of programs which were likely to come in exam. They crammed up minute details too like where to put semicolon;.
As time passed I learnt various programming languages throughout engineering. So basically I was like if I don’t get placed in Core company then I can easily get placed in IT company on the basis of programming knowledge. I was confident or may be over-confident. What I didn’t knew at that time is that somewhere someone is planning to destroy this confidence.
In mid 7th semester (till now I’m not placed in company other than TCS which everyone takes for granted i.e. will join TCS if other option is not available) one IT company came whose name I can’t remember which is mass recruiter not like TCS, Infosys or IBM but number of selection are good enough. First round of their recruitment process was coding round.
In 20 min we had to solve two tasks.
Luckily I got two tasks which are considered very easy in programming world i.e.
1) reverse a string without using inbuilt function
2) Prime number
Anyone who knows or loves to code will be extremely excited on getting such a easy task, I was too.
As soon as I completed Task 1 within 5-6 min excitement increased as I’m one step closer to clear this round.
Started trying task 2. I wasn’t able to complete the task. Even I forgot how to take input from user. I wasn’t able to process what just happened in those 14-15 min.
Prime number code which every programmer learnt in there starting stage of programming I wasn’t able to solve that. And secondly students whom I taught programming language cleared that round and got placed in that company.
I was like, what happened to all knowledge, where it was when I needed it most, I went in deep shock but human behavior is so unpredictable I was smiling like nothing happened.
But we can’t leave everything on FATE. We have to keep working.
Even you may have experienced such situations in your life where the task is so simple but you weren’t able to crack it. That’s where FATE comes into play.
Prime number code decided my fate. Fate is beyond our control.
Currently I’m in core company, far far away from coding . But still I’m learning programming languages don’t know why.😀
PS: As Feedback received from previous blogs this time I tried to link different time Stories in better way. Even then if you didn’t get what I want to convey then in next few lines I will write summary of it.
I have pretty good coding experience but I wasn’t able to solve prime number code in organization recruitment process. That’s how fate works.
Thanks🙏
As I always say feedback is must. Being a instrumentation and control engineer I know the importance of the feedback and how feedback can be used to improve the system. Here system is referred to my writing……..😀
Nice, 🙂 Fate and Karma are complicated.
